NC Community Colleges provide educational and vocational programming for (56) NC Department of Public Safety Adult and Juvenile facilities and our Colleges play a critical role in the reentry process that begins day one for these students. This session will provide an important overview of prison education in North Carolina pertaining to Section 225 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), College and Career Readiness, High School Equivalency, Governor Cooper’s State Reentry Council Collaborative (SRCC), NC Commerce’s Reentry Program, Local Reentry Councils and much more.
